ALBAWABA - Hali Rahbani, the youngest son of Lebanese music icon Fairouz and the late composer Assi Rahbani, passed away on Thursday at the age of 68.
Hali died after a long struggle with physical and intellectual disabilities that he had since his birth in 1958. Hali Rahbani's death came months after the passing of his brother, Ziad Rahbani.
According to Lebanese press reports, Hali lived away from the spotlight and the media, under the care of his mother, who dedicated her life to his well-being. It is widely believed that the song "Sallim Li Aleih" was written for him.

A photo of Hali with his mother first surfaced in 2022 when it was shared by his sister, Rima Rahbani.
At the time, the photos revealed a little-known aspect of Fairouz's life with her son, who used a wheelchair.
This death comes about 6 months after the death of his brother, the musician Ziad Rahbani, in July 2025, and is an additional blow to Ms. Fairouz, who made her first public appearance in years at her son Ziad's funeral.
