For the fourth year in a row the Lebanese International Festivals’ Committee will hold next August the specialized festival “Mediterranzo” on its stage in the Lebanese antiquities town of Jbail, north of Beirut, according to the daily al Sharq al Awsat.
As usual the festival depends on the first artists’ shows or on introducing a new artist in a modern framework or a blend of international music.
Within this framework, the festivals will begin with two concerts for the veteran artist Nahawand who restored fame after her participation in the festivals last year. Singing with Nahawand will be the Spanish singer Jose Galfir along with the Eastern Roots Troupe”.
The festivals will be opened with folksongs by brothers Farid and Rami Shehadah who specialize in this type of singing.
The second show will be on August 30-31 by the Lebanese singer Jihad Mahfouz and Greek singer Foula who will offer a blend of Greek and Arab music.
The festivals will be concluded with two concerts on September 6-7 by the Lebanese singer Tania Saleh who wrote a famous international song.
The newly elected committee headed by Latifa al Laqis released the festivals’ events timetable during a press conference at the Ministry of Tourism which was attended by minister Karam Karam and a group of journalists -- Albawaba.com
