And while the Duke and Duchess have not yet announced the gender of their new arrival, Princess Alice has now emerged as the bookies' favourite. According to Ladbrokes, Alice is tipped as the most popular girl's name while Philip is top of the list for a little boy.
The name Philip is likely to be a nod to William's grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, who officially retired from public duties last year aged 96 and recently underwent a hip replacement.

Preparations are being made at the exclusive Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital, West London, with media barriers being installed outside the building.
The couple are likely to announce the gender of their latest addition with a framed notice of birth outside Buckingham Palace, before introducing the youngster to the world on the steps of the Lindo Wing.
