Lebanese diva Carole Samaha, recent winner of the World Music Award 2014 for Best Live Act in the Middle East, signed a contract with Dr. Loay Deeb, head of the United Nations Global Network for Rights and Development, a contract to become the new Goodwill Ambassador for GNRD in the Middle East and carry on all the responsibilities to help and encourage nations in their roads to development.

According to the Middle East news portal Elaph, the contract was signed at the organization’s headquarters in Norway on June 20, and Carole will be playing an active role to promote humanitarian projects of the organization, specifically ones that concern women, children, refugees and those in dire need.

Carole vowed to defend people and nations and fight for their rights. The first official mission Carole will go on is a special visit to the Syrian refugee camp Al Zatari in Jordan to offer humanitarian assistance.

Is she trying become the Middle East version of superstar humanitarian Angelina Jolie?
