Cuba Gooding Jr. caused chaos during an early morning television appearance when he accidentally swore live on air on Monday.

The actor, 50, left  BBC Breakfast viewers stunned with his energetic display, which saw him hug hosts Louise Minchin and Charlie Stayt and blurt out an expletive.

While explaining how he felt after landing the role as Billy Flynn in the West End adaptation of Chicago, he told viewers he 'cried like a little b***h'.

He said: 'I cried like a little girl. That's true. I said it. I cried, like a little b***h!'

The Pearl Harbor star later apologised for his use of 'colourful' language.

During the show, the Chicago performer leaned in for a hug with the two presenters and asked 'is this so bad?' as he embraced them, leaving Louise squashed between the two men.

Louise replied 'this is not so bad' before Charlie added 'it's a group hug!', while looking a little uneasy.

He told the presenters that it was a 'Cuba Gooding sandwich' as he threw the show into chaos with his lively display.

Cuba then joked: 'Hey get out of my pocket! That's my wallet', while he held the two hosts.

Fans of the Jerry McGuire actor appeared to thoroughly enjoy the morning burst of energy, as one viewer said: 'Whatever Cuba takes to feel that alive on a Monday morning, I'll have a gallon of it! Brilliant!
