Egyptian artist Shams can give a convincing performance as a professional dancer, yet her court "performance" was anything but, after being sentenced to ten years in prison for kidnapping.
The Cairo Criminal Court sent Alaa Mohammed Ali - AKA Shams - behind bars for kidnapping an orphan named Ghada Adel from the orphanage she was residing in.
What's the story?
The orphanage contacted the Nasr Police Station claiming that Shams had taken away the two-year-old child after failing to legally adopt her. Her request for adoption was rejected because of her occupation as a dancer, reported Albawaba Arabic.
However, Shams asked for permission to host the child at her house for 48 hours, but failed to return her back to the orphanage when the time was up, and refused to hand Ghada back despite signing papers that state otherwise.
Maybe Shams can do good in prison and teach her mates a thing or two about dancing!
