ALBAWABA - King Charles reportedly met privately with David Beckham after his unsuccessful attempt to meet with Prince Harry, according to people close to the royal family.
The Times reports that Beckham, the former captain of the England football team, met with the monarch in a "private meeting" on Friday. The source goes on to say that Beckham obviously wanted to learn more about the monarch's charity.
Noticeably absent from the "Invictus Games" celebration event on Wednesday, May 8, were the Duke of Sussex's father, King Charles, brother, Prince William, and wife, Kate Middleton.
Prince William made investments at Windsor Castle on May 8, while the Princess of Wales is out of public view because of her medical treatment.
Charles, who had been undergoing cancer treatment, has just returned to his royal responsibilities and hosted the season's first garden party at Buckingham Palace on May 8.
The event took place at the same time as the Thanksgiving Mass at London's St. Paul's Cathedral, which marked the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games, which Prince Harry had founded in the city in 2014.
"In response to the numerous inquiries and ongoing speculation about whether or not The Duke will meet his father while in the UK this week, this will unfortunately not be possible due to His Majesty's full program," the spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex said on May 7, prompting this development.
