Comic actor David Spade was attacked with a stun gun in his home Wednesday, after discovering one of his employees there without permission, police said.

Someone at Spade's home called police at 6:22 am (1422 GMT) to report a burglary in progress, police Lieutenant Ed Kreins said, but the intruder had fled by the time the first officers rolled up a minute later.

The 36-year-old star of television's, Just Shoot Me told police the man attacked him with an electric stun gun and that there was a struggle.

Spade, who got his start on Saturday Night Live and later played the straight man to late Canadian comic Chris Farley in a series of movies, co-stars in the NBC network series about a magazine.

He suffered minor injuries, Kreins said.

David Malloy, 29, an employee of Spade, was arrested Wednesday afternoon. He will be charged with burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and assault with a stun gun, Kreins said. He was locked up in lieu of 50,000 dollars bail.

It was unclear how Malloy got into Spade's home. – AFP.
