Eminent Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki had recently finished a stage of his chemotherapy and is preparing to travel to France to continue his treatment for lung cancer. Ahmad was overwhelmed by the crowds coming to the hospital to check on how he was doing. Ordinary fans and many colleagues and politicians were among the visitor, the thing that made him realize the value of his works and the amount of love and admiration his fans have for him.
Despite Ahmad's illness, he is still trying to fulfill his ambition to do several roles he had always dreamed of performing. Among these was the role of Halim the famous late Egyptian singer Abdul Halim Hafez. Ahmad is reading the scenario for the movie about the Egyptian legend written by Mahfouz Abdul Rahman and to be directed by Magdi Ahmad Ali, and produced by Emad Adeeb.
Many other movies are offered to Ahmad to take part in after he completes his therapy such as “al-Musheer wal Raees” (The Marshal and the President) directed by Khaled Yusef, [Naqeeb al-athab directed by Raafat al-Mihi, in addition to “Min Daher Ragel” by Ahmad Maher.
Doctors say that his spirits are rising significantly and he even began joking and laughing. Egyptian minister of information had previously ordered all Ahmad Zakki's movies to be bought and screened on Egyptian TV, but unfortunately, the it has not been implemented yet.
Egyptian doctor Yasser Abdul Kader, who is currently supervising the health condition of Zaki has revealed that the actor is responding positively to the new phase of chemotherapy he is undergoing. The doctor added that Ahmad’s condition is stable, which indicates medical progress.
With regards to the Chinese treatment the actor is also undergoing, Yasser stressed that he cannot determine the outcome at the current time. He added that samples of the Chinese treatment were sent for examination and the results have not yet returned.
Zaki had begun a new stage of cancer treatment by a group of Chinese doctors, who came especially to Cairo to give the actor a special dosage of medicine that has been proven to help heal lung cancer. The Chinese treatment will be composed of several phases, first concentrating on increasing the immunity of the actor to be able to response to his medication.
The doctors had stressed that several tests will be made to see the extent of success and improvement their medication has accomplished. The actor is also scheduled to return to Paris to undergo several tests and treatment after completing his sessions with the Chinese doctors, in addition to a session of chemotherapy. –Albawaba.com
