After the release of her most recent single "Al Karar" (The Decision), Lebanese singer Diana Haddad decided to postpone all scheduled concerts and filming of music videos until the war on Iraq is over. The singer said that the current situation of war and people suffering and dying makes it very unsuitable and insensitive to hold any form of entertainment.
According to the London based Elaph, Diana was due to travel to Lebanon to shoot a new music video under the direction of her husband. The singer was also scheduled to begin preparing for her upcoming album, as well as hold a number of concerts around the Arab world.
Earlier this month, Haddad decided to contribute to the fight against drugs and smoking in the UAE with a new single "Bi Edak El Qarar" (The Decision is in Your Hands) written by prominent poet Karim Al Iraqi and composed by Dr. Fatih Allah Ahmad.
Diana filmed the music for the new single under the direction of her husband, director Suhail Al Abdoul, which will be broadcasted throughout satellite and local TV stations. Diana was chosen to be part of the campaign for the fight against drugs among a large list of candidates for her wide popularity around the Arab world.
Organizer of the campaign Ali Abdullah said that he intentionally chose Diana and was confident she will be successful in sending out the message. Diana in return expressed her honor in being part of a campaign that strives to educate and help the young generation be aware of the severe consequences that result from drug abuse. –Albawaba.com
