Lebanese singer Pascal Mashaalani recently left the hospital after undergoing a surgical operation. The singer had been experiencing difficulties in her gallbladder for some time, and had been trying to avoid going to a doctor fearing the possibilities of an operation.
According to the London based Elaph, matters had worsened with Pascal's gallbladder that she was rushed to hospital and underwent an immediate operation. The singer is now requested to take time off until she regains her physical strength before undergoing any kind of work.
Once Pascal is back on her feet, she will resume preparations for her upcoming album, which is scheduled to be released this coming June. The album will feature ten songs that vary in composition and style. The most notable composition Pascal has acquired is that from the Tunisian folklore, Egyptian and Lebanese accent, along with songs taken from the Bedouin heritage.
Pascal is hopeful that her new album will be a success, especially due to the fact that she has been away from the scenes for some time. The singer has carefully selected the composers and poets for her album some of who are Tony Abi Karam. Issam Karika, and Munir Abu Yousif.
Two years ago, marked the golden year for the Lebanese singer during which she won the Golden and Platinum CD Prizes from Malaysia when her album "Noor al Shams" (Sun Light) ranked number 1 in sales in Malaysia and neighboring countries. With this winning she marked as the first Arab singer who received an honor from Malaysia.
After 11 years of singing, Mashaalani still remembers her first prize ever won from a Tunisian TV. In 2000, she won an appreciation prize from the Australian Film Award Company in addition to UNICEF Prize at a festival in Oman.
In addition to singing in different Arabic dialects, Mashaalani turned to sing in foreign languages, the Italian language in particular. - Albawaba.com
