Dubai’s cosmopolitanism brings with it a merry-go-round of multicultural events and excitement all year long. Delicious food festivals, superstar performances and sporting events starring top players – there’s never a dull moment for anyone in Dubai. Even the city’s comedy circuit attracts talent from all over, and while The Laughter Factory is always playing host to a world of hilarity, there’s a one-off show in the mix you don’t want to miss.

Thanks to Tall Tales Productions, two of Pakistan’s funniest comics are bringing to Dubai the very witticisms and sharp observations that brought them fame in Pakistan and beyond. Prepare for a side-splitting evening on 13 February by Saad Haroon and Danish Ali, who will share their take on everything from cricket and relationships, to all the shades of being brown.

For those playing catch-up, Saad Haroon's affair with entertainment began in the early 2000s. Not only was he voted Laugh Factory’s second funniest comedian in the world but he’s also the mastermind behind Pakistan’s first-ever improvisational comedy troupe, Blackfish. He followed in the footsteps of political comedy giants Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart to create The Real News, Pakistan's first satirical current news show in English.

Much of Haroon’s relationship with comedy has been alongside co-performer Danish Ali. High in the rankings for comedy might, Ali co-wrote and hosted The Real News with Haroon. He was also the first Pakistani comic invited on a US Department of State-sponsored tour of America, bringing laughter to venues like Dartmouth College and more.

Now you can see them perform live at Alserkal Avenue’s independent performance space, The Junction, on 13 February. Dubai’s resident comedian Salman Qureshi will host Once You Go Brown, so prepare for a night full of light-hearted jest that will resonate no matter where you're from.
