Don Juan of Egyptian cinema passes away

On the morning of August 22, 2011, Don Juan of Egyptian cinema prominent actor Kamal Al Shinawi passed away at the age of 89. The actor passed away after a long battle with illness.

 

Kamal had a long journey and prestigious in Egyptian cinema that lasted for over 62 years through which he presented over 200 different works for the cinema and television. Kamal was the dream man of women in the 1950s and 1960s and was able to maintain his prestigious image until his dying days.

 

The late actor was born on December 26, 1921 in Al Mansura area in Cairo and his first profession was as an art teacher at a high school. His journey in the acting world began in 1947 in the film “Ghani Harb” (Sing War) by the late director Niazi Mustafa. His last film was “Al Wad Mahrous Bita Al Wazeer” (The Minister’s man) in 1999 alongside prominent Egyptian actor Adel Imam.

 

According to the internet website MBC.net, Kamal had directed one film throughout his career titled “Tanabilat Al Sultan” in 1965. In addition, most of the films and television dramas Kamal starred in were alongside some of Egypt’s most prominent actors and actresses like Shadia, Laila Murad and Lebanese diva Sabah.
