Sydney Opera House hosted the sensational international Pop Diva Tania Kassis in May/June. This was her first ever live performance in Australia. As was expected, the tickets sold out way before the concert dates as people were impatient to steal a glimpse of their favorite pop star.

Her angelic velvet voice, which can accommodate diverse music styles ranging from house of techno and bossa nova to international jazz and traditional Lebanese, is not the only reason that makes her so wanted and loved for. Her elegant style and the way she presents herself, confidence, beautiful gestures, and above all the message that she delivers through her music combine together to brand her as a ‘Soprano’ and rightfully a Peace Ambassador.

She is striving to bring peace and make the world a better place to live in through her music. She is best known for promoting peace and tolerance by integrating lingual, ethnic, regional and religious traditions. Her call for prayer in which she combined Muslims’ and Christians’ prayer calls also known as Ave Maria (Islamo-Christian AVE) is highly accepted and appreciated by both sects.

Even Muslim and Christian Pundits appraised it and wished to have copies of this great song. She admires her efforts and is determined to continue working along the same lines. When asked in an interview for her favorite remark that was made about her, she replied, “I’m proving that nothing is impossible, that we should keep on believing strongly until we realize our dream.” She further explains that this is the concept behind a united Lebanon as well as her philosophy in life.

She has spent a big part of her life in France, where she studied for the most part. But she still keeps herself connected to her roots. Her zeal to bring diverse cultures through dialogue is quite evident in her work. “Live at L’Olympia” mirrors her affection towards both distinct Lebanese and French cultures. In the past, she also combined French and Arabic songs such as “J’ai Deux Amours” (I Have Two Loves) and Laila Mourad’s “Albi Dalili,” respectively. Kassis has also produced an English rendition of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera.”

Kassis made her message clearer with her single “What’s Happening to Jerusalem,” in which she described Jerusalem as “the city of 3 religions.” Through her lyrics, she described her mission of bringing in peace and increasing tolerance to a level where differences are just words and do not guide actions.

She has been traveling around the globe to spread her message, and various organizations and governments have appreciated her efforts. She has been an Honorary Ambassador for the South-Korean contingent of the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) since 2011.

Despite her many performances worldwide, she’s yet to make her debut in the USA. The melodious queen is looking forward to an opportunity to take her message to people in the North American continent. Las Vegas is the city where Tania wishes to perform.

Hopefully she will soon be entertaining the US nation with her music and great message for peace.
