It’s been a very good start for Dubai’s Dub Fest Street Festival, which started on March 20 and will go on until March 29, at the Ghurair Centre.

Spectators were able to enjoy the spectacular shows on offer from 4pm until 11pm on weekdays and from 2pm until 11pm on weekends.

Fourteen artists amused street crowds with over 150 free shows since the festival started. Over 200,000 visitors have already enjoyed the shows and thousands more are expected to visit for the 16 remaining artists’ shows.

Dub Fest will see acts, including Guinness world record holders showcasing their incredible and unique talents, here for the first time ever. The acts include Rubberband Boy, who holds the impressive world record for the having most rubber bands round his face at one time and Micha De Hann, a balloon artist who has created extraordinary giant balloon sculptures on every continent.

In addition to these acts, ex-Cirque du Soleil performers and many other internationally acclaimed street artists will also be performing interactive and family friendly shows daily, for free.

In a statement released by Al Ghurair Centre’s head, David Thurling said: “Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays are usually the most popular days with visitors coming to watch the activities of the ‘Street Con for Modern Arts Festival’ or the ‘Battle of the Bands Competition’ and now ‘Dub Fest.’ Based on the number of visitors we’ve had last weekend, we’re expecting over 200,000 visitors next weekend.”

AL Ghurair Centre are attempting to turn Deb Fest into the next Edinburgh Comedy Festival.
