Egyptian artist Noor Al Sharif has announced the disappearance of the only copy of a film he made on the Palestinian issue to expose Israeli actions, particularly those of extremist groups such Gush Emunim.
The film, which is a joint Palestinian-Italian production, was never screened because “the film negative disappeared from the laboratory in Rome,” Sharif told the daily Al Gomhuria.
Many Palestinian stars took roles in the film, entitled Khayt Abyad Khayt Aswad (White String, Black String), which was written by the European writer Yasr Gio Amidet.
The Egyptian actresses Aminah Risq and Safiyyah Al Omari also appeared in the film, as did actors from all over the world, including the US and UK.
“My participation in this film did not represent aspirations inside me to become an international star, as I have no dreams of acting in any film outside Egypt. The film storyline prompted me to play a role in it,” added Sharif.
Sharif performed the role of the late Palestinian cartoonist Naji Al Ali, who he says was assassinated by the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad - Albawaba.com
