The Egyptian thriller Warda will be screened at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in South Korea this month.
Directed by Hadi El-Bagoury and written by Mohamed Hefzy, Warda is produced by Film Clinic and The Producers, in co-production with Aroma Pictures.
"The film traces a video blogger who returns to his Egyptian countryside home to document and investigate strange happenings that have been disturbing his family since the death of his father," reads info released by MAD Solutions, a Cairo-based company that specialises in public relations and marketing for the film and entertainment industry.
Following its release across the Arab world, Warda was screened at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival.
Launched in 1997, the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival takes place annually in Bucheon, a satellite city of Seoul. The festival's recent editions screened over 200 films from more than 30 countires.
The festival focuses on South Korean and international horror, thriller, mystery and fantasy films, with particular attention to Asian cinema but welcoming entries from other parts of the world for its World Fantastic Cinema section.
