Arab TV channels will soon air a new Egyptian series based on the book The Protocols of Zion. It has infuriated Israel which decided to submit protest to the Egyptian government.
“The series tackles the period during which the Zionist ideology was finalized between 1850-1917. The series in which about 200 actors and actresses participated will be aired by Abu Dhabi TV in association with the Egyptian Radio and TV Corporation,” the series star Mohammed Subhi told the al Musawwer
Egyptian Magazine.
The Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot web site said that Israeli political sources condemned the new series and saw it as inciting and anti Semitic. These sources accused the Egyptian government of encouraging the production of such series.
The paper cited the Israeli deputy Foreign Minster, rabbi Michel Milkiore who heads the coordination team that fights against anti-Semitic as saying, “this series is against Judaism and some of its contents are completely baseless and have been used in publicity for Nazism. European courts previously confirmed that this was lying.”
He added that he would address the Egyptian government to demand it to ban airing the series because, according to him, it does not contribute to enhancing the reconciliation atmosphere in the Middle East but rather incites anti-Semitic.
Earlier, Israel aroused a big fuss about the series Erhabiyat by the Kuwaiti comedian Daoud Hussein which was aired by Abu Dhabi TV satellite channel during last Ramadan.
Israel also launched a big campaign against the Egyptian pop singer Shaaban Abdel Rehim for his song Ana Bakrah Israel (I Hate Israel) and looked at such productions as discouraging the atmosphere of building confidence in the area -- Albawaba.com
