Prominent actress Elham Shahin will be starring two different television drama series, “Imra’a Ala Nar Hadi’a” (Woman on Low Heat) and “Al Harafeesh”, to be aired this Ramadan.
In ‘Woman on Low Heat,’ written by Kawthar Haikal and directed by Abdul Aziz Al Sukari, Elham plays the role of a woman in her forties, who has been unable to marry. She works as the office manager for the Minister of Information to support her family, and is faced with cruel rumors as a result of her post.
The actress has begun shooting the second half of the drama “Al Harafeesh”, which is a drama based on the novel “Al Harafeesh” by renowned novelist Najib Mahfouz.
Consumed with filming, Shahin turned down an invitation from the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. The committee has chosen Elham’s film “Khali Min El Cholesterol” (Cholesterol Free) to enter the competition.
Elham expressed her disappointment at not being able to attend the festival, but stressed that it is essential and a priority for her to remain in Egypt in order to have her series ready for screening during the holy month of Ramadan.
