Elissa paid tribute to her father with a new song.
“Zakaria,” an emotional and eagerly-awaited new number by the Lebanese superstar, is a tribute to her late father, Zakaria. It was released today on Angham and has had fans respond happily and excitedly.
The lyrics describe her struggle to deal with her father’s death:
Oh nights come back and free my country and borders
My tears are drowning my oud. Who can I complain except to God?
Oh my tears, stop increasing
Let my candles light-up and lead me
It's a surprisingly tender song from Elissa. Listen to it here:
