A section of the Kuwait Opera house went up in flames on Monday and Lebanese singer Elissa is under fire for allegedly mocking the terrible incident.

While Kuwaitis watched in horror as a large fire erupted at the iconic building, Elissa was busy retweeting a sarcastic fan's tweet, who pointed out that the Opera House was bound to burn down since its management didn't invite Elissa to sing there and bless it, thereby protecting it from the evil eye.
The tweep included a laughing emoji in his tweet, which made his comments all the more insensitive.
However, the diva's response was even more heartless, as she retweeted his post along with the words, "Hahahaha thank u. (sic)"
Social media users took her response to mean that she is not bothered by the fire or the damage caused to the centre. Elissa should have kept schtum if she had nothing nice to say.
According to Kuwaiti daily Al Qabas, the blaze started at the engineers' room, but luckily the fire brigades were able to put out the fire.

Thankfully, no human casualties or injuries were reported, according to Kuwait News Agency.
The beautifully-structured building, which opened in October 2016, includes a 2,000 seat opera house and cost a reported $775m to build.
According to Gulf News, "the cultural centre includes a performing arts centre, music centre, concert halls, cinemas, conference centre, historical documents centre as well as libraries, parks, and fountains."
