Ellen Pompeo threatened to 'quit Twitter' after several online disputes on Sunday.
The Grey's Anatomy star has been embroiled in social media drama after a Deadline report blamed her high salary for two actresses being fired from the hit show.
But after defending Sarah Drew and Jessica Capshaw, the actress, 48, was accused of 'not helping the situation' in which she responded: 'Please don't accuse me of being disrespectful it doesn't matter what I say nothing I say is ok so I won't say anything at all anymore.'
Ellen's response came after online critics continued to slam her, the show, and even the two departing actresses after the showrunner Krista Vernoff insisting that the decision to cut the two actresses was purely a creative one.
'We R grateful all of you are so passionate but if you knew these two women the way I know them they would not approve of all this nastiness,' Ellen wrote.
'They both are super shiny happy people. I know you're angry but you're representation couldn't be further from who these women actually are,' she added.
Twitter user Damon Faulkner responded: 'Aren't we allowed to be angry at this injustice, though? Going to be two impossible holes to fill.'

'You are but spreading acceptance and love is our message with Greys and what all of the actors try to do with our performances on this show,' Ellen replied.
But follower Heleinir prompted Ellen's threat of silence when she posted: I really respect you and your work, Ellen, but I think your statements are coming a little late and are not helping the situation, even less so with you referring to them as "these women". People are unhappy and justifiably so. @sarahdrew & @JessicaCapshaw deserve some respect.'
Deadline reported on Thursday morning that longtime Grey's Anatomy stars Capshaw and Drew will be exiting the show at the end of the current season.
The article explains that the decision not to bring back the two stars 'comes on the heels of the blockbuster new Pompeo pact that gave her a significant salary increase, paying her as much as $20 million a year, including signing bonus, producing fees, ownership in the show and other extras.'
Unfortunate: The 48-year-old actress took to Twitter on Thursday after a Deadline report suggested her $20million paycheck is the reason Sarah Drew and Jessica Capshaw are being let go
Drew was the first to speak out about the news on Twitter and revealed surprisingly that she only found out herself less than two days ago.
'Thank you for all of the love,' the 37-year-old wrote. 'I know you're sad. I'm sad too. I haven't really had the time to process this information. I've been with it for less than 48 hours, so I'm not ready to say my thank yous and give an all encompassing statement about my 9 years here.
Drew joined the show in season six as trauma surgeon April Kepner, a transfer from Mercy West, later being upped to series regular in season seven.
Later in the day Capshaw, 41, who joined the medical drama in 2008 for season five as pediatric surgeon Arizona Robbins, responded to the news with a heartfelt statement.
'For the past 10 years, I have had the rare privilege of not only playing Arizona Robbins, but also being madly in love with playing her,' she wrote.
Pompeo is now the highest-paid actress on a prime time drama, getting $575,000 per episode on Grey's Anatomy, which comes to over $20 million per year.
