Elton John reveals losing his eyesight during 'The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical'

ALBAWABA - Iconic British singer-songwriter and pianist Elton John recently made headlines after saying that he could only listen to his stage show 'The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical' due to losing his eyesight to a severe infection, according to the BBC. 

John said, "I have lost my sight and I haven't been able to see the performance but I have enjoyed listening to it." The show in question also organized a charity for the Elton John AIDS Foundation on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024. The famous British pianist has been suffering from a severe infection in his right eye since July, this year.

The famous pop star also revealed that he finds it difficult to record songs in studios, further claiming that he couldn't read the lyrics due to his unfortunate eye infection.

After his comment to fans about losing his sight during the musical, the singer left the Red Carpet early with his husband David Furnish, as reported by The Telegraph.

By the time of writing this article, the reason behind the infection remains unclear but the pop star first started suffering from it while on holiday in France.
