Egyptian risen star singer Essaf Thanaa Gabal denied that he had agreed to sing for a charity event to help raise money for building a school, saying, "It is true that I was approached by the event organizer. I asked him to contact my manager and I thought that was the end of it. I was surprised when I received a threatening text on my cell phone".

According to Alyoum Al Sabe'e, (7 Days) the Egyptian wild child singer Essaf pointed out that he tends not to really bother himself with such trivial matters, adding, if he had wanted to file a report to the authorities he would have done so because he has proof of the harassment.

Mustafa Adel, the charity organizer said when approached on the matter, that they had agreed on Essaf's singing at the event but that the singer had later refused to follow through, due to the lack of publicity.  He added that Essaf had insisted on his placing special posters at the event, to distinguish him from the other artists who were participating. He too claims for his part to have proof that Essaf was a double dealer who had not honored his agreement to participate in the charity.
