New Year’s Eve in Dubai is always an extraordinary celebration, bright lights, celebrity sightings and the
works to make every year one to remember. Come midnight, the skies dazzle with vibrant fireworks, but
leading up to the show are thrilling parties and performances. Plan the ultimate farewell for 2020 with
all the fun things to do this year.
A KISS at midnight
Rock and roll your way into the new year at what promises to be the largest live streaming event of
2020. Kings of rock KISS are dropping by Dubai on their grand farewell tour (which a select few can see
in person from their hotel balcony), while event organizers Done Events attempt to break a world record
for the biggest fireworks show ever.
Follow the fireworks
While Atlantis The Palm might be vying for the biggest and brightest of them all, fireworks will pop off
across the city on 31 December. Al Seef, La Mer and The Beach are sure highlights for the family, but if
you're looking for an iconic shot to post on your social media, Downtown Dubai is the place to go.
Expect scintillating pyrotechnics to light up the sky, along with a light and laser show to ramp up the
energy. The Dubai Fountains will dance below as well, so you’ll never lack stunning sights all around.
Don't worry – strict social distancing and thermal monitors will ensure a safe experience for all.
Dance the night away at Dubai Opera
Gear up for an all-star line-up at Dubai Opera with standout performances by Arabic electronic house
pioneer DJ Said Murad, DJ Saif & Sound as well as Carrie Gibson’s Nuvo Soul band. It’s an evening of
versatile melodies, set to a neck-craning view of the Burj Khalifa as it dazzles nearby – an enviable
vantage point to watch the firework at midnight.
Sing with Arabic standout stars
Romance will set the mood when Wael Kfoury and Mouhamad Khairy lead festivities in Dubai Festival
City. See what makes Kfoury the 'The King of Romance' in Arabic musical circles as he takes you through
25 years of hits, including Ana Rayeh, while Syria's Khairy delivers with equally moving numbers from his
rich catalogue. It's a star-studded affair – come ready to belt out your favourite numbers.
Soulful singles with Nassif Zaytoun
Syrian superstar singer Nassif Zaytoun is lighting up the stage at Dubai World Trade Centre with

Plan your own fun
There are plenty of ways to ring in the new year with your individual touch in Dubai. Rent a yacht for a
small group of loved ones with Xclusive Yachts or glide through Dubai Marina aboard a traditional dhow
over dinner at the Rustar floating dhow. Join fellow travellers on a desert safari with Platinum Heritage,
make it extra romantic with their overnight package or plan a family retreat in Hatta under the stars.
Restaurants across the city are hosting spectacular set menus and tastings if you want something a little
more upmarket, or you could pack a picnic and enjoy the winter weather and distant fireworks by a beach
