Since resigning in March last year, Lebanese star, Fadel Shaker, has been known to make the odd strange statement or two. The former heartthrob gave up his singing career in favor of taking the religious track and has been hanging out with Salafis ever since.
No friend of President Assad, Fadel blamed his resignation on the Syrian government's violence towards its own people. But now he has gone one step further, accusing the Syrian president of working with Lebanese forces to try to assassinate him.
Syrian stars still living in their home country are regularly rumored to be at the receiving end of kidnapping plots or worse but stars in neighboring Lebanon very rarely complain of being targeted.
However, Fadel is not worried by the idea of an assassination plot and tweeted that he would happily die a "martyr" to his cause. It's a long way from his "habibee" hits and playboy lifestyle.
