Event sponsor Ahmad Najib has filed a lawsuit against Egyptian belly dancer Fifi Abdo accusing her of fraud. The sponsor had signed a contract with Fifi to hold three performances outside of Egypt and had paid her 20 thousand Euro in advance.

According to the London based Elaph, Fifi did not abide by the conditions in the contract and never held the agreed on performances. Ahmad filed the complaint to the Egyptian state police specifically stating that the dancer had taken the money and never held the performances in Holland and Germany as was agreed upon.

Abdo denied recent circulating rumors of her resignation from belly dancing stressing that she only eliminated dancing at private parties and weddings. The dancer added that she is in the process of preparing a new video featuring numerous dances all specially created by her.

Fifi revealed that her new dance video will be released and she is very hopeful that it will be a success, especially since people are so amazed by her style. With regards to her gaining too much weight in the recent months, Fifi stressed that it was caused due to her staying home beside her ill mother, but she is planning on going on a very strict diet to return to her normal size.

Fifi had previously announced that she has placed a reward of 50 thousand Egyptian pounds on anyone who informs her of the whereabouts of Egyptian actor Midhat Saleh, who supposedly is in hiding after he was convicted to a three-year prison term. Fifi revealed that she had denied all attempts made by several people from the entertainment to make amends with Midhat, stressing that she will not let Midhat off the hook that easily.

On his part, Midhat denied going into hiding saying that he is not one to run from his problems, but rather works on solving them and getting them out of his life. Midhat added that he has been trying to settle his differences with Fifi and is hopeful that within a short time, all problems will be resolved and they will once again be the good friends they once were.

It was recently revealed that Midhat and Fifi had finally decided to settle their differences, after over a year of disputes and lawsuits. The two made amends after Midhat paid back Fifi a half of a million Egyptian pounds as a form of settlement and in order to have her drop all charges against him.

Two weeks ago, a Cairo court released the final verdict regarding the case against Saleh and convicted him to a three-year prison term with labor for writing bad checks to Fifi without having a bank balance. The actor had previously filed an appeal for the ruling, but it was denied and he lost the case. –Albawaba.com
