At the opening segment of her weekly MBC Egypt program "Ahla Masa" (Good Evening) Fifi Abdo commented on her recent recognition by the Egyptian Aviation Club after they presented her with the "Mother of the Year" award during a recent social event they held in honor of mother's day.
Fifi said, "Thank you to those that have honored me with the award that really touched my heart and left an impact on me and also a special thanks to everyone who talked about me in a civil manner and stated that I deserve the award."
According to Sayidaty.net, the honored momma was also well aware about all the negative criticism and ridicule she was subject to for being presented with such an award. People had expressed their shock over the belly dancer being honored in this way, posting pics of her in her dancing attire to social media with captions that questioned how someone like that could be deemed the ideal mother, to which she responded, "Also thanks to all those that attacked me and talked about me in an ill manner."
The belly dancer then closed the subject and began her program without making any further reference to the incident.
