Film about Mubarak’s last days in power

The new film “Awriqat Al Qasr” (Behind closed doors of the palace) is considered to be the first cinema production that will portray the character of Egypt’s ousted President Husni Mubarak and former First Lady Suzan Mubarak. The film is a documentary that will focus on Mubarak’s final days in power before he stepped down from power during the Egyptian January 25 Revolution.

 

The film will focus on events that took place the last eighteen days of Mubarak’s regime, which is when the revolution began. Strictly confidential facts will be revealed that occurred leading to Mubarak’s resignation on February 11.

 

Director of the film Ahmad Fathi said that the film is 100 minutes long and will portray the events of the revolution from inside the Presidential Palace where Mubarak resided. It will present conflicting probability that explicate what had occurred with the former President leading to his stepping down. The film is a combination of drama and actual recorded data.

 

According to the internet website MBC.net, Ahmad added that real life political figures will appear in the film and Midhat Abu Al Izz, who is known to strongly resemble Mubarak, will be playing the role of the ousted President marking his first leading role. Actress Najwa Al Najeeri will play the role of the ousted First Lady.
