Egyptian actress Firdos Abdul Hameed will be portraying revolutionary Egyptian lady, Safia Zaghloul in her next project, reported AL Wasat magazine.

According to the Egyptian publication, the series, Hiwari Wa Qusur (My Talks and Palaces), was written by author Mohammad Al Gheiti and will be directed by Ahmad Khader

The woman Firdos will be portraying, Zaghloul, is one of Egypt’s most respected personalities. She is well known for her patriotic acts in the Arab revolution of 1919.

Firdos was chosen for the role because of her longstanding history of successful portrayal of famous historical characters. She has already played the role of ex-president Jamal Abdel Naser’s wife in the film Naser 56 and Egyptian songstress Um Kulthum in a film about her life.

Meanwhile, Firdos is also well respected in Egypt for her patriotic stands and humanitarian causes; a factor which will only serve the project with more positive publicity.

As for the series, it will include various episodes depicting the political and social events in Egypt and the Arab world before and after the revolution.

The episodes will focus mainly on the events which contributed to the instigation of the 1919 revolution as well as the end result, including unity and Egypt’s independence from British colonization.

Aside from the Firdos Abdul Hameed, the series will also star Ahmad Maher, Sayed Abdul Karim, Hala Shiha and Nabil Al Hilfawi. – Albawaba.com.
