We know who Forbes ranked as the highest-grossing male Arab performer of the year, but how are the ladies doing? What Arab actress or singer is the most “powerful”?

Haifa? Nancy? Fairouz?

Which of these wields true power?

The biggest surprise about the list, in fact, was that didn’t have a single Lebanese celebrity on it.

According to Forbes, the answer top spot goes to Tunisian actress Hend Sabri—she of Yacoubian Building fame. Forbes thinks she wields power, absolute power because of her 8.7 million followers, which is a sizable following around the population of Jordan, and her role as Goodwill Ambassador of the UN.

Following Sabry are:

  • Donia Samir Ghanem, the Egyptian actress, who has 10.3 million followers;
  • Ghada Abdel Razek, who commands an army of 10.2 million followers;
  • Yasmin Abdulaziz, who sits at 11.2 million but somehow manages to be less powerful
  • Dorra Zarrouk, a Tunisian actress who counts 9.3 million followers

Forbes uses the number of social media followers, years of activity, and activity outside of the industry as triangulation points to measure this highly scientific assessment of Kissingerian power.
