Algerian singer Fula gave a special performance for one person at a private ceremony that consisted of family members and close friends - Fula sang to Iraqi musician Omar Bashir on the special night they announced their engagement.
The ceremony was held at a restaurant in Beirut. According to the London based Elaph, the couple was only involved for a short period of time before their engagement.
On a different note, last year a Lebanese judge fined Fula 200 thousand Lebanese Liras for writing a check for 700 US dollars to her hairdresser, Joe Kahwaji, without having a sufficient balance.
The prosecutor initially asked for a three month jail term and a fine of one million Lebanese Liras.
Fula admitted to the crime, marking the second time the singer faced such charges.
Fula requested that Joe wait to cash the check until after she returned from Paris, but the he ignored her request, and when he tried to cash the check it bounced, said Fula.
