Legendary Syrian singer Mayada al Hinnawi has strongly denied one particular story posted by a number of Arab newspapers stating: "Mayada Al Hinawi sells Baleegh Hamdi to beauty specialist Joe Raed". Mayada stressed that she would never sell her artistic heritage to anyone, even if they offered her millions of dollars for it.
According to Laha Magazine, Mayada stated that in the past, she had turned down many production companies' offers to sell the copyrights to some of her biggest hits.
To be honest, the only party Mayada is interested in making music with is her record label "Mazzika." According to her, Mazzika's company producer Mohsin Jaber and her are on excellent terms!
As for her upcoming collaboration with Lebanese hairstylist-turned-singer Joe Raed, Mayada confirmed that she will be holding a press conference detailing their work in the near future.
The two may be good friends, as she stated, but Maya assured the press that the fact Raed is singing some of her music - just as other singers do - does not mean that she's given up her copyrights for him!
The soft-hearted singer added that she's also turned down offers to make any public appearances on a host of talk shows as her way of showing solidarity with Syria, the Arab world and the tragic conditions they are currently going through.
Mayada concluded that media representatives should refer back to her when writing something about her, in order to verify whether it's true or not!
