Ghada Abdel Razek shocked her fans several days ago by announcing her intention to resign from showbiz, a decision that was shortly reconsidered, thank God.

"A couple of days ago I was seriously thinking of quitting my career due to the fact that I am fed up with the constant problems and sick minded people in the entertainment world," the actress admitted.

So what does staying in the biz look like for Ghada? She will be playing the leading lady in the new television drama "Shajar Al Durr" that tells the story of the late famous Egyptian queen.

Ghada has posted photos of herself looking like the late queen that ruled Egypt for 80 days, but refused to reveal any of the drama's details or the identity of the director that is said to be Lebanese.

According to the Middle East news portal Elaph, Shajar Al Durr was the widow of Sultan As Salih Ayyub and was a slave who was granted her freedom after she bore the sultan a son. She became the Sultana of Egypt in 1250 and remained in power for 80 days and then stepped down from power. Shajar Al Durr was of Turkish origin, and some stated she was Armenian. She was described as a very beautiful and intelligent woman that played a very significant role in Egyptian history.
