Egyptian singer Ghada Ragab has wrapped up her third album produced by Rotana Company. This time, she depended on composers from the young generation.

“I do not think that my cooperation with Baker and Saher has distanced me from the young generation. The song We Love Life composed by Hilmi Baker and filmed as video clip among the youth milieus recorded a success and spread among the public. Also the poem “Why” composed by Kathem al Saher succeeded and spread throughout the Arab world although it was in classical Arabic. These top composers have enough awareness to meet the youth needs,” Ragab told the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.

The young artist said, “when I won the Golden Microphone Prize in 1995 at the Arab song Festival, I dreamt of representing Egypt at a grand festival. This dream came true in Jordan when Hilmi Baker nominated me for the fourth Arab Song Festival which marked the first step for me on the road. Then I implemented the album entitled Girls Dreams when I was 17 followed by the album entitled Why as my song bearing the same name and composed by Saher won an award at the Song Video Clip Festival in Bahrain. I also participated in Cartage Festival and sang before 15,000 spectators. I am also participating in the Arab Music Festival as I sing on the Opera House theater which is an honorable thing that only few singers can secure.”

Ragab revealed a joint music cooperation project between her and the Saudi renowned singer Mohammed Abdo. “I met him in Egypt and we agreed that he offers me a cadence. We met again short time ago and renewed our agreement which will be implemented soon. I hope this work will be will wrapped up quickly as my collaboration with Abdo will add much to my artistic career,” added Ragab -- Albawaba.com
