The Lebanese artist Ghassan Rahabani formed a troupe that recorded great success. He selected four beautiful girls for the troupe including Miss Lebanon for 1997, Dalida Shamoun in addition to other two working as models Nisreen Zraiq and Nataly Barakat. The fourth member is Maya Diab who worked for ART as TV announcer.

“I had many ideas in music remaking through which I managed to make little changes in rhythm and song style. After I noticed the Arab music orientation towards dancing rhythm, I mulled over doing a complete work distributed in the form of a dancing rhythm. I named the troupe Four Cats because I like animals,” Rahabani told the Arabic daily al Hayat.

He added, “The troupe girls do not necessarily have to have extraordinary voices. The singing style I choose for them suits their sound pitches and the theme of the song they perform. The appearance is not only required for the troupe members but also for every singer these days.”

Ghassan selects models and beautiful girls for his troupe rather than young singers. “New young singers are conceited and so I refuse them because our work depends on modesty and harmony between members,” said Rahabani.

Ghassan admits that he is a dictator in work. He says, “This is because I know what I want and my dictatorship created stars. Some people thought after I taught them that they have become more prominent than me and attempted to teach me. I don’t allow such things because I understand music.” Albawaba.com
