Nancy Ajram is not your typical diva. There’s more to the popular Lebanese singer than just her rave music or poster-girl looks.

Few perhaps know that she is a great homemaker too who finds as much time for her family as she does for her thriving career.

Speaking to XPRESS on a recent visit to Dubai, the 32-year-old described herself as “fun, spontaneous, dedicated and very family-oriented.” “Besides my music career, my husband and my two lovely girls make up my entire world,” she said.

Asked how she managed to look beautiful all the time, she said: “I find that beauty always begins with how you feel on the inside. I strive to find a balance between my career, family and well-being. I exercise daily and I maintain a healthy diet and adequate hours of sleep, all of which contribute to being a more beautiful version of myself.”

She said her latest hits are also a reflection and exploration of the different facets of her personality.

New challenges

“My albums are usually rich and have various styles, tongues and musical muses. I take inspiration from the experiences that happen to me; I feel that as an artist I am not afraid to explore and develop my talent into new paths.”

Ajram said her decision to play brand ambassador for retailer Home Centre also sat well with her basic values. “My career has taken me far and wide, performing across the region and staying long hours out of home. So the one thing that I have always cherished is the sentiment of coming home to my family. The brand has always represented to me warmth and friendless, as well as a sense of home and belonging, so when the idea of being their brand ambassador came up, I quickly jumped in.”

She said Home Centre’s latest TV commercial also speaks about the joy of coming back home.
