ALBAWABA - TV cook Gordon Ramsay said that he had treatment to get rid of skin cancer.
The 58-year-old man thanked the "incredible" doctors and nurses who removed the basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer that is not melanoma.
Ramsay wrote on Instagram on Saturday that he was "grateful and so appreciative" to his medical team for their "fast reactive work".
"Please don't forget your sunscreen this weekend," he wrote, adding: "I promise you it's not a face lift! I'd need a refund."
The post showed the side of his face after the surgery, with a bandage under his ear.
People on social media offered messages of support. TV judge Robert Rinder posted a heart emoji.
Cancer Research UK told Ramsay they were glad he was doing well and thanked him for "making people more aware of how important it is to stay safe in the sun."
The comment read, "Seek shade, cover up, and apply sunscreen regularly and generously."
According to the NHS, basal cell carcinoma is one of the main types of skin cancer that isn't melanoma. This type of cancer is usually easy to treat.

Skin cancer that isn't melanoma is mostly caused by ultraviolet light, which comes from the sun and screens. It starts in the top layer of skin.
Its main sign is a growth or strange spot on the skin, usually on parts of the body that get a lot of sun, like the face, neck, or hands.
The NHS says that you can lower your chance of skin cancer by being careful in the sun and using sunscreen and reapplying it often.
Ramsay is best known for his starred restaurants and for hosting famous TV shows like Hell's Kitchen and Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.
