Grace Deeb confronts the Lebanese press

Famous music production company ‘Rotana’ held a press conference in Beirut for the Lebanese artist Grace Deeb. The press conference was held for the launching of Grace latest album “Ma Btishbah Hada” (Doesn’t look like anyone) and the main topic of the conference was Grace’s talent in writing and composing. Grace had written and composed four songs from her new album and they are “Ma Btishbah Hada, Othrini, Asfah and Baref Leesh” (Doesn’t Look Like Anyone, Excuse Me; I’m Sorry and Don’t Know Why).

 

According to the London daily Elaph, the song “Qolili Keek” (Tell Me How) which is written by Toni Abi Karam was also composed by grace and it is done in the khaliji (Gulf) dialect. Grace seemed calmed during the conference and very assure of herself and her talent. She answered all the journalists’ question quietly and the smile did not leave her face despite the embarrassing questions that she was asked. During the press conference Grace announced that she’ll be releasing a solo single against abortion and the lyrics for it says “Ya Omi Trkini Eesh” (Oh Mother Let Me Live).

 

She also added that she’ll be having another press conference before the launching of the solo single which will be aired on ‘Rotana’ music channel. It is not sure yet whether ‘Rotana’ will be producing Grace new project or if she’s going to money for production from an international human right association. Grace also talked about her relationship with Rotana and how she has her own style that is different than many singers.

 

Grace also answered questions about the video clip of her song “Othrini” (Excuse Me) which is considered to have extreme images that are not suitable to the Arab culture. Grace was also asked if she ’ d behave the same way that she did in the video clip, which is to give up her lover and let another woman have him. She added that the clip has an open ending which would be interpreted in many ways.
