Musicians are gearing up for the Islamic Enlightenment Society’s Third Musical Festival, which begins on September 11, according to Gulf Daily News.
The event, under the theme “Muslims Are No Terrorists,” will feature 15 bands from all around the Gulf.
The opening coincides with the first anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the US.
“The negative fallout from September 11 can be used to educate the world at large about the real Islam,” festival information committee head Mohammed Noaman told the daily.
He added, “America has used the attacks as an excuse to treat Arabs and Muslims harshly.”
The festival will be broadcast live on the Internet at www.al-anaheed.com.
