The latest album “Bidi Eish” (I want to live) by Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi has finally been released under the production of Rotana, after being postponed numerous times. From the moment the album was released in stores, it has witnessed tremendous success in terms of sales.

According to the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />London based Elaph, the officials at Rotana were shocked at the number of sales reaching 30 thousand copies on the first day in Beirut alone not including other Arab capitals. Haifa has expressed her joy at the huge success her album was witnessing especially since she had worked so hard on it to make it meet the highest standards.

The singer revealed that she will hold a celebration for the launching of the album in the very near future along with a press conference. Haifa had postponed the released of her latest music video, which she has just completed shooting, until the launch of the album. Haifa’s decision had caused the director of the clip Hadi Al Bajory to fall in a state of worry fearing that the idea of the clip may be stolen. Hadi added that he also fears the clothes Haifa wore in the clip may as well get stolen. Hadi revealed that the clip is three songs combined in one and lasts up to 6 minutes, which is considered one of the longest clips to be released. The three songs are “Ragab” where Haifa imitates Egyptian legend Hind Rustom, “Tool Umri Aini” in which she plays the role of a common Egyptian girl at a fish market, and the third song Haifa acts out the role of a modern girl.

Despite recent constant rumors of disputes between Haifa and her production company Rotana, the singer has been holding several sessions with the company to discuss the strong possibility of renewing her contract. Haifa’s current contract with Rotana, which produced two albums for the singer so far, is scheduled to end this month.

Haifa revealed that no definite agreement has been reached so far, but negotiations are going in the right direction. In her latest album “Bidi Eish” (I Want to Live), Haifa worked with a number of prominent Lebanese composers and had spent endless hours taking singing lessons to improve her performance.
