Looks like our Arab female pop stars have girl crushes they'd like to get out in the open this week!
While Emirati singer Ahlam tweeted her admiration for Lebanese actress Cyrine Abdelnour and her outstanding performance in the Ramadan TV series "24 Carats," Syrian superstar Assala did the same for Lebanese singer-turned-actress Haifa Wehbe.
Wehbe proved what a brilliant actress she is when she first starred in the Egyptian film "Halawet Rouh" (Rouh's Beauty) and later in the serious TV drama "Words on Paper."
Assala told her fans how impressed she is with Wehbe's performance in her new Ramadan drama "Mariam," where she plays not one, but two completely different characters.
But before revealing the mystery celebrity, Assala tweeted, "Guess whose performance I'm totally surprised with and wish she could be like that in reality (I mean the tone of her voice and the way she acts)... take a wild guess."
Later on, she tweeted again, "Whoooo?"
After much anticipation and wild guesses from her fans, she revealed Haifa as the woman in question.
"Yes, it's Haifa Wehbe. For the first time ever, she's drawn me to watch her act and pay all my attention to her. She's playing her character perfectly. Bravo, Haifa," Assala wrote.
The two ladies are known to have had a bumpy relationship over the past few months; is this Assala's way of reconciling with Haifa?
