Dutch-Tunisian actor Marwan Kenzari wants you to know just how snake-like he can be.

In other words, Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express), is reportedly going to play Jafar in Guy Richie’s upcoming live-action remake of Disney’s Aladdin.

Jafar, the grand vizier to the Sultan of Agrabah, is a nefarious plotter and who seeks to rule the land through the power of a genie. Jonathan Freeman brought the character, one of Disney’s most famous and easily one of its most pun-nerific, to life in the 1992 animated theatrical feature.

Iranian-American actress Nasim Pedrad will also be joining the cast, playing Jasmine’s handmaiden Mara. The role did not exist in the 1992 original.

John August, the writer of films like Big Fish and Corpse Bride for director Tim Burton, will be writing. Dan Lin is producing.
