Gun-toting action is all set for Middle East and North Africa in the form of the highly acclaimed post-Civil War series Hell on Wheels with its first ever showing in the region, scheduled for May 2015.

Four seasons of the drama series will join icflix.com’s roster of popular series acquisitions from Entertainment One (eOne) including The Red Road, Klondike, Rogue, Haven, Turn, Halt and Catch Fire, Welcome to Sweden, Primeval: New World and The Book of Negroes.

Hell on Wheels tells the epic story of post-Civil War America, focusing on former Confederate soldier, Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) who sets out to exact revenge on the Union soldiers who killed his wife.

Bohannon’s journey takes him west to a settlement of construction workers of the first transcontinental railroad, referred to as ‘Hell on Wheels’ by the company men and laborers who live in the encampment.

“We are thrilled to bring Hell on Wheels to the Arabic speaking audience. This is a compelling and dramatic series that chronicles a turning point in America’s history,” said Carlos Tibi, CEO icflix.

“This will be a great series for viewers in the region, especially for those who love action and classic westerns,” he further added.

The series also stars Common (Date Night) as Elam Ferguson, an emancipated slave working to gain freedom and Colm Meaney (Soldiers of Fortune) as Thomas ‘Doc’ Durant.

Hell on Wheels was developed by Endemol USA. The series is produced by eOne and Nomadic Pictures.
