Audiences should be prepared to laugh themselves to death at the upcoming film, “Ala Jithiti” (Over my Dead Body) starring Egyptian comedian Ahmed Helmy. The actor is currently filming the scenes between the streets of Cairo and Al Abasia Hospital.
In the film, Ahmed plays the role of ‘Raouf’ who is an interior designer that goes into a coma. The film, written by Tamer Ibrahim, combines the pains of real life along with some hilarious fantasies to make light of one man’s paranoia.
As events escalate in the film, ‘Raouf’ wakes from his coma and begins to suspect everyone around him of trying to frame him in some way or another. His suspensions turn into full blown paranoia and he begins to eye everyone around him as a possible conspirator.
“Ala Jithiti” stars Egyptian actresses Ghada Adel, Atin Amer and Ola Rushdi.
Mohammad Bakir, who is attempting his first directing experience on the big screen, was head director. Bakir is known for his directorial success in the recent Ramadan series “Taraf Thalath” (Third Party).
