Tunisian actress Hend Sabry is set to make her country proud at the Academy Awards in 2017.
Her film "The Flower of Aleppo" is in the running for a "Best Foreign Film" Oscar in February. The emotional drama was officially selected by the Tunisian Ministry of Culture.
In the film, Hend plays the role of Salma, a mother whose teenage son goes missing under mysterious circumstances after the Tunisian Revolution.
"The Flower of Aleppo" marks Hend's return to Tunisian cinema after a 14-year hiatus.
