After years of absence, satirical Egyptian presenter Bassem Youssef is set to return to TV via El Sharq network affiliated to the Saudi Research and Marketing Group.
According to a statement issued by the channel, Bassem Youssef will join a list of broadcasters, including Moataz Al Demerdash, Zina Al Yazji, Rasha Al Khatib, Saad Zaghloul, Mohamed Fathy and others.
Bassem confirmed to a close source that the new program is completely far from sarcasm and politics.
The source added that the nature of the show will belong to health and proper nutrition that is adopted by a large group of people around the world, especially since Bassem has excelled in this field and has a large audience that watches the videos he broadcasts on social media.
Bassem Youssef had left Egypt nearly 7 years ago after the suspension of his satirical program Al-Barnamag "The Program," a political satire of the scene prevailing Egypt at the time.
