Hip-Hop pioneer Darryl ‘DMC’ McDaniels has sent a message to his fans in Bahrain ahead of his scheduled appearances this week.

In a video posted on Twitter by events organiser Jam Up, Mr McDaniels said he was getting ready for the meet and greet at Virgin Megastore in City Centre Bahrain at 7pm tomorrow, the first of his three planned events in the country.

“I’m going to set it up so I can come talk to you all, we can kick it and I can tell you my history and my story,” he said.

“As a matter of fact, because DJs make the world go round, after we talk and I answer a few of your questions we are going to let DJ Charlie Chan put on a show, because I know you all want to know how I got all this hip hop and rock and roll stuff going on – and if any of you want to get up on the mic while Charlie Chan is DJing, so be it.”

Mr McDaniels is also scheduled to appear at Malja in Amwaj Islands on Thursday, followed by a concert with local artists DJ Outlaw, Flipperachi and rock band Phat Nutz at Wranglers in the Juffair Grand Hotel on Friday.

“I’m going to put on a concert for you all because of all of you are jamming and Jam Up knows that and I’m going to be in the house with the one and only DJ Outlaw and Flipperachi,” said Mr McDaniels in the video.

“After that I’m going to take it further, because during that show I’m going to do live songs out of my back catalogue with the one and only Phat Nutz because it doesn’t get real unless you’re doing some real rock and roll to go along with the hip hop.

“So Bahrain it’s going to be insane, DMC is coming to your town where we going to Jam because Jam Up got it going down.”

Bahraini comedian Ali Fingerz will also join the list of local talent participating in the scheduled events as he will act as master of ceremonies on all three nights.
