If fitness is what keeps you going, there’s no reason to hit pause on your stride this Ramadan. The holy month may bring a rush of delectable Iftars and cultural experiences to Dubai, but wellbeing stays at the forefront of the city’s collective goals. Keep going with this round-up of top events in Dubai during Ramadan:

 

Burn rubber at Dubai Autodrome

At Dubai Autodrome, karts take a break for one evening so that racers can burn rubber by foot at the latest edition of Run The Track. This Ramadan edition takes place after sunset, offering runners a selection of 3km, 5km and 10km distances. Race through the floodlit route to work off Iftar in the company of fellow fitness fans.

Run with Dubai’s original pack

Desert Road Runners is Dubai’s oldest running club, with trainers hitting the pavement since 1998. This established group comprises running enthusiasts of all ages and levels who regularly meet for community cardio at venues across town. Join them after Iftar at the tree-lined paths of Mushrif Park for a peaceful, low-pressure meet where you can set your own pace and goals. Runners can participate in a 5km distance, while juniors can opt for a free 2km track.

The home stretch   

Wrap up your Ramadan fitness goals with a bow at the last of the Dubai Desert Road Run series. This popular racing session invites runners of all abilities to take on 3km, 5km or 10km distances at the Sevens Stadium, home to famous Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens. Challenge your personal best with competitive counterparts or simply rack up steps on your Fitbit at this spirited run. The three fastest runners in each age group and distance will receive a trophy, while all participants take home a medal.

Cool down with hot competition

Even when Ramadan ends, you can keep your dedication up and running with a myriad of sports and activities all through summer at Dubai Sports World. Covering an area of 25,000 sqm at Dubai World Trade Centre, you can rent out an indoor, air-conditioned court for basketball, football, cricket, table tennis and a whole lot more. Dubai Sports World lasts all summer long, so grab your friends, teams or colleagues for some friendly competition. Modhesh World – a summer wonderland for little ones – will also be in session at DWTC (21 June - 17 August) so you can combine the best of family and fitness time in one trip.
