Some scenes from "Khifet Yad" (Light Hands) series in which the actor Mohammed Tharwat wears the clothes of a priest while practicing fraud set many Egyptian christians' on fire across social media.
Facebook was filled with comments about Mohammed Tharwat's scenes in the dramedy series, and specially a scene in which he smokes while wearing priests clothes, which many conisdiered inappropriate for the holliness of the costume he is wearing in addition to the fact that he is practicing fraud while wearing the costume.
Other more positive commentators however said that such characters who dress up as priests to practice fraud exists in real life ,and that it is something that the church warns about all the time. The crew behind the series are yet to comment on the crticism.
One angry spectator took it to twiiter to express his anger, posting a scene from the series and captioning it "The dirt of Egyptian art. In the series (Khifet Yad) 'Light Hand, the actor who thinks he is so funny called 'Mohammed Tharwat' is playing the role of a hustler, and the creators of the series could not find any character to dress him up as other than a 'christain priest' who smokes cigarettes and not only that but removes the top hat and says 'I swear with the holy Quran that I was so close to getting caught.' You are just garbage."
